Media Start Up Digital and Technology Marketing Management

The Problem

Media-Corps is a media industry startup that aims to connect U.S.-based brands and media agencies to Canadian advertising opportunities. To do this, we needed to create an online resource hub (media-corps.com) and implement the full suite of digital marketing practices to draw in potential customers.

My Solution

With the help of our team of expert web developers, content writers and designers, I built the new Media-Corps website with strategically designed content, including blog posts, infographics, eBooks, and more. The website was positioned as the key to the company’s inbound marketing plan and was fully integrated with sales, marketing and collateral systems to faciliate end-to-end funnel management and gather in-depth consumer and lead analytics in our web analytics platform.

Driven by the business objective of generating brand awareness and converting visitors into qualified leads, we crafted and implemented a digital marketing program. The cornerstone of this program was a well-defined, customer-centric content strategy. Accordingly, we developed and continued to update an editorial calendar to streamline content creation and manage client engagement through lead generation campaigns and nurture emails/phone calls.

Our Results

Since launching in November 2015, the website has experienced a rapid growth in page views, surpassing 5,000 page views per month after just 5 months — a significant feat for a niche business website. Another key win was the results of our digital marketing program which led to a continuous lead generation of 100 leads approx. per month.

Between November 1, 2015 and April 30, 2016, traffic has come from a variety of sources.

  • Total sessions/month increased from 584 to 2,029
  • Direct traffic sessions increased from 192 to 618
  • Organic search sessions increased from 180 to 765
  • Social referrals increased from 15 to 223

We also managed to increase the average session duration from 52 seconds to 3 minutes and 20 seconds; increase the number of pages per session from 1.29 to 2.77.
